Khorat UGGp and Department of Mineral Resources Conduct Joint Geological Survey and Geosite Monitoring

Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark, Thailand – In a significant move to strengthen geo-conservation and scientific accuracy, Khorat UGGp, in collaboration with the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), launched an intensive field operation throughout January 2026. The mission focused on monitoring existing Geosites, reviewing the Geosite Inventory, and conducting joint research to further understand the unique geological heritage.

Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark, Thailand, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yangan-Tau UNESCO Global Geopark, Russia. This new agreement was finalized on September 12, 2025, during the 11th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks in Chile.
