The Petrified Wood Research Institute, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, in collaboration with Khorat Geopark World, held a meeting to establish a tourism cooperation network. The topic was "Development of Geotourism in the Khorat Geopark Area" using a hybrid model.
On May 28, 2024, the Petrified Wood Research Institute, Rajabhat Nakhon Ratchasima University, in collaboration with Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark, organized a meeting to establish a network for tourism cooperation. The meeting was held in the 2nd-floor meeting room of the Petrified Wood Research Institute, Rajabhat Nakhon Ratchasima University, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The meeting was organized to establish a network for cooperation in promoting tourism in Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark under the topic "Development of Geotourism in Khorat Geopark Area" in hybrid platform.
The meeting was attended by qualified speakers, including Assistant Professor Dr. Nattinee Thongdee, Director of the Petrified Wood Research Institute, Lecturer Khuan-Isra Poomisiripaiboon, Deputy Director of the Petrified Wood Research Institute, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Pratuang Jintasakul, Advisor to the Petrified Wood Research Institute and Director of Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark. Participants in the meeting included community groups from all 5 districts of Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark.
The purpose of this meeting was to establish a network of cooperation between government agencies, the private sector, and communities to jointly develop geotourism in the Khorat Geopark area. It focused on presenting the geological diversity, landscape, and culture of Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark to attract both Thai and foreign tourists.
The meeting discussed guidelines for developing geotourism in the Khorat Geopark area, emphasizing the use of geological and cultural resources in the area, as well as promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.
This meeting was a significant step in establishing a network for cooperation in Khorat UNESCO Global Geopark tourism and is expected to lead to the sustainable development of geotourism in the area and benefit the community in the long run.
