 The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has joined forces with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) and Nakhon Ratchasima Province to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly promote Khorat as a global geopark.

 
On July 1, Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, and Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The signing ceremony aims to promote Khorat as a global geopark. Dr. Petchdao Tohmeena, Advisor to the Minister of MHESI; Prof. Dr. Supachai Patumnakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MHESI; Ms. Sunee Lertpiantham, Chief Inspector-General of MHESI; and MHESI executives were witnesses. Mr. Suraphan Silpasuwan, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province; and Dr. Prateep Wongbandit, Deputy Governor for Research and Development for Sustainable Development. The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), Mr. Songkiat Tatayanon, Deputy Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adisorn Naowanont, President of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, and their colleagues signed the agreement at the Dinosaur Museum, Northeastern Institute of Petrified Wood and Mineral Resources.
The signing ceremony of the MOU between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and research institutes will clearly and tangibly leverage the knowledge gained from higher education institutions and research institutes to create positive economic, social, and environmental impacts for local communities.
